This week...

  • To hang on through this roller coaster ride in this foster/adopt process - for the kids' benefit
  • For Sean's teaching and chaplain work to coordinate well in his weekly schedule
  • For us to be able to continue to share our hearts with each other as we have our highs and lows
  • For Debbie to find the counsel she needs this week at her first counseling session

SD.jpgThis week we sent a letter out to our partners to give them a heads-up regarding our plans as best we know over the next few weeks, and leading into the next several months! We thought it was a good idea to keep everyone in the loop, especially those of you who have faithfully provided for us financially to support our ministry, as well as care for the three beautiful kids over the last year.

Below is the letter for those of you who didn't get it or didn't get a chance to read it:

"Happy New Year FraserWorld Family and Friends!

If you’re like us you probably started 2008 with a WHOLE lot of dreams and aspirations beyond your current reality. Job changes, serving opportunities, trip planning, and home projects all creeping from your subconscious to conversations with others. Not quite sure how any of those pipe-dreams will move from ethereal to real, but we all seem excited to tap into some of those ideas and start some actual planning. Got to tell you, however, NOT easy to do when we’ve still got this foster/adoption process poking its head in our home with court dates vying on our future. So, we’re attempting to figure out how to make some solid plans which could mean we’ll need to make some pretty painful decisions over the next few weeks as we head towards the January 30th court hearing.

We wanted to do two things with this “Kick-into-2008” letter. One, we wanted to thank you SO much for your loving support, both financially and spiritually, as you prayerfully came along side us to care for us through this WILD ride of loving on the three beautiful kids we were blessed to parent through 2007. And two, we wanted to tactfully give you an "out" in regards to your financial support in light of the fact the kids have left our care and we don’t have any idea how this process will play out and if they will be with us again in the future.

Now, of course, we know your financial and spiritual support has been to care for us and our ministry involvement through NieuCommunities/CRM and NOT simply to support the care for the children, but we thought it made sense to give you an update regarding what we’re doing this side of 2008. We will continue to seek opportunities to live missionally by creating training venues to serve the young and not so young emerging missional leaders as we did in 2007. But in order to sustain our housing, just by chance the children come back to our care, Sean will be pursuing some substitute teaching in addition to his hospice chaplaincy to ensure we can afford to keep this house. This additional workload will mean unforeseen adjustments in how these missional training venues are created, but the flexibility in both the substitute teaching and his service as a chaplain should still allow for our active involvement with NieuCommunities/CRM. It will simply mean some creative scheduling and planning as we continue to work with different churches, universities, and rescue missions.

So there you go! While we still welcome your financial and spiritual support as we move forward into whatever 2008 will bring, we also completely understand if you desire to redirect your giving to a less ambiguous mission project or ministry. We trust God will give you all you need to make that decision and that He will provide for us in remarkable ways this year just as He has throughout our lives.

We look forward to seeing what God does in and through you in 2008, so keep us up to date on what’s happening in your life this year, too! And don’t forget to keep up with us at www.fraserworld.com.

God bless you as you enjoy an AWE inspiring year!"
